Blackwood  Manor

Mediaeval English Style

Bed and Breakfast

Blackwood Manor is a long step back in time as is the tiny hamlet of Elk City, Idaho.  Blackwood Manor is located on 56 acres with gorgeous views of mountains, woodlands and meadows.  Several horses along with docile, classic, long haired Scottish Highland Cattle, the oldest registered breed of cattle, graze in the pasture.  The long and occasionally muddy driveway winds up to the large country residence and outbuildings.  A small flock of Lincolnshire sheep along with peacocks, rabbits, chickens, ducks and geese graze on the lawns.  Guests are welcome to meet the animals and ramble through woods and fields where wildlife is abundant.

Peace and tranquility exist in this olde world style sanctuary where Mediaeval History is the inspiration for the European castle like atmosphere.  Heavily carved, dark wood antique furniture, tapestry hung walls, canopied beds with full bed curtains and three wood burning fireplaces add to the feeling of stepping back in time.  Local legend adds a resident ghost.

A friendly and personal welcome await you.  Guests are welcomed like members of the family and an evening chat about the days activities is always fun. Guest lodgings feature a private bath and two bedrooms, one with a canopy bed. The adjoining  reception room is an English pub with an open log fireplace, dark wood beams, mullion windows and a full size pool table.  A full English breakfast is served family style in the formal dining room. tournament.jpg (39810 bytes) writing.jpg (36191 bytes)
