Consult your owners manual and follow the instructions.
Set the scanner resolution to 300 dpi(The scans usually end up in about 2500 x 3500 pixels
when scanned in 300 dpi (dpi=dots per inch).
Choose to scan in *black & white (I think "black & white" is also known as "mono",
"monochrome","bitmap" or in some scanner applications called "line art").
Scan the cover(OPTIONAL) - If you want to scan the cover.Save the cover as a JPG, but ALL
OTHER PAGES AS TIF FILES. If tif isn't available, gif can be used instead (but this isn't
as good as tif when saving black & white scans).
Scan the contents page.
Scan each song and save the songs individually under the title of the song.
Zip each song.
Scan the rest of the songs and save each one under the name of the song.
Scan the back of the book(OPTIONAL)- If you want or not at all but save as a JPG.
9)Zip all the songs in one file and label it as follows; "Band/Artist-Name of Album/Book-ISBN
#123456789". For Example, "The Band- Songbook Named Album-ISBN 987654321". Including the ISBN
number in the name of the zip-file is good to have if you're looking for more information
about the book - If it is a
(JPN) in the file name at the end.
Now start trading your scanned book with some one else for other scanned guitar tab books.
*If the black & white option isn't available it is also possible to scan to
color or grayscale and then convert it into a two color image (often called
bitmap). But you still have to use a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
