Palestine,4 B.C. A shepherd
boy shivers against the cold of night -- lost, alone, surrounded
by jackals. Where could they be, he wonders again ofhis
family.Where are you, Father? I'm sorry I got mad...
After running away from his father's tents in a moment of
anger, ten-year-old Jotham has lost his way, and his family. As
he journeys through Palestine in search of his nomadic home,
Jotham is helped by a fool, a priest, azealot and a wise man.
Chased by a gang of thieves, thrown from one "fosterparent"
to another, Jotham slowly discovers the miracle of the first
Christmas, and some miraculous things about his own life and his
own family...
Written as a devotional for parents to read to their children
during Advent, Jotham's Journey unfolds day by day until
the exciting climax on Christmas Day. Each day's installment of
the story is followed by a short devotional which will challenge
your family to share in Jotham's discoveries.
Hardcover, 168 pages, with introductory notes and ideas for celebrating Advent.
Jotham's Journey can be ordered through any
local book seller.
The Good News and Bad News! (November 2000)
The good news is that Jotham's Journey came out in paperback during the summer of 2000! The bad news is . . . it's all sold out! A recent check with the publisher confirmed that there are no copies of the book to be found at any of the major distributors, even after a new printing this summer. It is possible that local bookstores may have a copy or two, but other than that our efforts to locate copies in significant numbers hasfailed.
Thanks so much to the many people who have called me directly seeking copies, and I hope you've been able to find some. Servant has saidthey will be doing a fifth run of the book next year, but it's toolate to be out for advent this year. I apologize for any inconvenience. Believe me, I'd love to sell you some books!
As for a sequel . . .
Yes, I have written a sequel to Jotham's Journey, which will hopefully be out by next year. The working title is Bartholomew's Passage , and follows the story of Jotham's friend from Qumran. Please email me if you'd like more information.

I now have a limited number of books in the
paperback version available. These books were returned from
bookstores. Most are in good condition, but with a few
scuffs on the cover. I can sell these at a reduced cost of
$5 each plus shipping. If you're interested, please email me and I'll give you
the details. Thanks!

July 2001 Update:
A new printing of Jotham's Journey is underway and should be available in August. It can be ordered through most any bookstore at that time, or will be in-stock at many bookstores closer to Christmas.
In the meantime, the sequel is also at the publisher, and will hopefully be available for Advent 2002.
