June of 2003, we traveled to Quebec City (see Parliament Bldg and Old Quebec City below Left & Center) and Montreal (view from Sheraton Le Centre Hotel on Right).  The Basilica is in Montreal where Celine Dion got married.  Wonderful French food & people.

December, 2003 we had traveled in New Orleans in December prior to our

Caribbean cruise to Mexico and Central America

From Left to Right above, the St. Louis Cathedral (2nd oldest church in America), the Delta Queen on the Mississippi River, a cemetery (known as City in Orleans), and the statue of Andrew Jackson in Jackson Square.  The city was fun, and filled with bars, restaurants and gift shops.  We stayed here for two nights.  The food was excellent.

Welcome aboard the NCL's Norwegian Dream; the ship is over 750 feet long and holds nearly 1800 passengers (small for the newer ships of today, but perfect for us).  She has four dining rooms including one for Italian and one for French cuisine.  24-hour room service, a Sports Bar & Buffet, and a deck side pizzeria & ice parlor.  There was Stardust Showroom and Casino, and numerous bars and lounges throughout.  The item that made NCL famous was open seating; not the usual set dining at the same time, table and staff.  Instead, you walk into the restaurant like you would at home, and ask for a table of your choice (great idea).

All are photos of the Mayan ruins of Tulum, Mexico, which is South of Playa del Carmen (across from Cozumel).  The Maya civilization is still around, but mostly hidden in the deep jungles of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.  At one point, the Maya population had reached twenty million; now it's a quarter of a million.  Tulum is the only Mayan City built on the coastline.  Hard to see, but the photo on the Right shows a face in the stone (the eyes and chin are seen as a side profile on the corner).
